The first thing to do when you are beginning to run is to find a good pair of shoes. You don’t necessarily need to go out and buy the newest and greatest – an old, comfortable pair of sneakers will do. Wear loose fitting clothing that will make you feel comfortable.
Be sure to stretch out before and after your run. If you don’t you’ll suffer from stiffness and sore muscles and it will be difficult for you to want to run again.
When you’re running, make sure you keep your back straight. Lean forward just a little bit to increase your speed. Make certain you fully pick your feet up so that you don’t have to worry about tripping. Keep your body relaxed so you don’t end up with stiff joints from being too tense during your run.
Breathing is essential during running. Many times, individuals will hold their breath in a misguided attempt to push themselves harder or faster.
